Actor/writer/director Jon Favreau's new film Chef opened this past weekend in just six theaters in New York and Los Angeles, and it pulled in a whopping $34,034 per-screen average. That average was higher than any other film currently in theaters. According to The Wrap: Chef will "expand to about 10 cities next weekend and beyond that on May 23." [The Wrap, Box Office Mojo]
