The French Laundry to Close for Expansion [UPDATE]

Looks like Thomas Keller's famed Yountville, CA restaurant The French Laundry will be temporarily closing for renovations this Summer. According to the Napa Valley Register, the restaurant will close for "a couple months come July or August" for an expansion that was approved by a Yountville committee in February.

UPDATE 3:05 PM: ISSF gets the following statement from TKRG: "Until our plans are completed and approved by the Town of Yountville and the various other regulatory agencies, we cannot finalize a construction schedule." TKRG also tells ISSF that Keller is not committed to any pop-up venues but is exploring the options.

The Register also hears from an unnamed source that Keller is in talks with Silverado Resort and Spa to open "a 'pop-up' restaurant in the space that has housed the Royal Oak Restaurant for decades." Eater has reached out to TKRG to get more details on the temporary closure and potential pop-up plans but has not heard back yet. More details as they are available.
