Disgraced ex-Food Network star Paula Deen will embark on a 20-show tour nationwide this year. According to the Miami New Times, the 90-minute "interactive" show titled Paula Deen Live! will feature "cooking demonstrations, games, and stories." There will be plenty of "audience participation" in what Deen confirmed to the Miami New Times as her "all-time favorite parlor games": "We are going to play musical chairs and the dating game with the audience. That's the excitement of it all -- my fans get to be a part of the show. I'll also invite some folks in the audience to come on stage and cook with me." Deen's husband will also be on hand to "share personal stories."
This isn't the first time Deen has done a live show. According to a review on her Ticketmaster page a disappointed fan who attended a show in Detroit writes, "What we got was a dissertation all about her. She did not cook, did not discuss recipes or cooking, just talked about herself and the family (and cursed). Not what we expected - or wanted."
The tour kicks off June 21 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which also happens to be the location of Deen's new restaurant "Paula Deen's Family Kitchen." According to the Miami New Times, seven shows have been announced so far with stops in Atlanta, Savannah, San Antonio, and Nashville. The remaining thirteen shows, which include stops in Jacksonville, Pensacola, Orlando, and Clearwater, Florida are slated to be announced shortly. Ticket pre-sales for Deen's Pigeon Forge, Tennessee shows begin today.
