Teenager's Arm Severed While Cleaning Pasta Machine in Upstate New York Restaurant

A 17-year old employee of Violi's, an Italian restaurant in Massena, New York severed his arm while cleaning a pasta machine this past Thursday. According to the Watertown Daily Times, Brett Bouchard's right arm got caught in the machine and severed at the elbow. Bouchard was rushed to the local hospital but was then flown 350 miles to Massachusetts General Hospital for surgery where he currently remains in critical condition. The restaurant's manager tells the Watertown Daily Times that "restaurant employees Restaurant employees are trying to figure out how the machine got activated" while Bouchard was cleaning it. The manager has also set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money for his medical treatment and travel expenses for his family.
