Kickstarter Introduces Food Subcategories Including Bacon

Crowd sourced fundraising site Kickstarter has added twelve subcategories to its larger Food category. In a blog post Kickstarter writes that they've "finally added the subcategories you've all been asking for" including food trucks. The site has also added a few that "no one was asking for but that we thought would be cool" like one devoted to bacon-centric projects. Other food categories include cookbooks, small batch, farms, and vegan.

As hinted in a previous interview, there's also a subcategory explicitly for restaurants. Kickstarter has long been a popular fundraising method for restaurant financing. Over 500 restaurants across the United States have gotten their start with help from the site, with one restaurant raising well over $300,000. Here's the full list of food subcategories:
