Andy Ricker — Portland/New York chef, cat selfie enthusiast, and author of 2013's wildly successful cookbook Pok Pok — has signed a deal with Ten Speed for two additional cookbooks. A rep for Ten Speed tells Eater that co-author JJ Goode is back on board for the followups, as is photographer Austin Bush. The team of Ricker/Goode/Bush created a bestseller that also happened to be on Eater's 2013 list of Essential Cookbooks, so these books are definitely something to look forward to.
First up is Thai Drinking Food — which can be loosely considered the Whiskey Soda Lounge cookbook — promises recipes for "the rich and varied drinking food of Thailand (and the drinks they're consumed with)." The book will also have "extensive travelogue-like essays" and is coming Fall 2016.
And then in the Fall of 2017, Ricker will release Sen Yai Noodles, "an exploration of the important role of noodles in Thai cooking including noodle soups, noodle stir-fries, and khanom joon." That book will contain around 70 recipes. Hope everyone is ready for a hell of a lot more Thai food.
