Yesterday on her show, Ellen DeGeneres invited Oscars pizza delivery man and Big Mama's & Big Papa's Pizzeria owner Edgar Martirosyan to talk about his experience delivering pizza to stars like Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) and Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle). Martirosyan apparently didn't know he would be asked to go on stage, and says he was "in shock" since he was told he was going to be delivering to writers. DeGeneres also offered him a belated $1,000 tip, about $600 of which had been collected from the Academy Awards audience in Pharrell Williams' hat (of course).
In Ad Age yesterday, Coca-Cola commented on the fact that their logo was displayed — it was printed on the pizza box — during a at Pepsi-sponsored event. A spokesperson for the soda company said: "Big Mama's & Big Papa's Pizzeria is a longstanding Coca-Cola customer...We were surprised and delighted to see them appear during last night's Academy Awards and think they did an outstanding job of bringing some extra fun and excitement to the show."
