AUSTIN— Everybody panic, Cronuts will invade SXSW. Eater Austin reports Cronut king Dominique Ansel and his fetishized pastry will be in attendance at a sponsored "Late Night Saloon Party" open to all badge-holders (with pre-registration required). FOOD TV— The Food Network's newest competition reality show will force chefs to compete in "three casino-themed cooking challenges" for a $30,000 prize. Reality TV-person Bill Rancic has been tapped as the host of the appropriately named Kitchen Casino, which debuts on Monday, April 7. Michael Chernow (The Meatball Shop), Gavin Kaysen (Cafe Boulud), and Chopped alum Madison Cowan are among the "rotating" line-up of judges. [EaterWire]
PEBBLE BEACH— Tickets are now available for the seventh-annual edition of Pebble Beach Food & Wine, slated for April 10 through 13. Chefs like Michael Voltaggio, Jon Shook, Michael Symon, and Paul Bartolotta among the participants, serving dishes during a "Dinner with the Stars of Los Angeles," a Charlie Trotter Tribute dinner, and a foraging lunch.
