Dora Charles, who "helped develop some of the iconic dishes" available at Paula Deen's Savannah restaurants, has landed a cookbook deal. Publishers Marketplace reports Charles' Flavor: True Southern Home Cooking will feature 100 recipes highlighting "the African-American contribution" to Southern cooking traditions. Charles, a 22-year veteran of Deen's kitchens, came forward amidst the 2013 Deen scandal, alleging she was paid less than some of Deen's white employees. [Pub Marketplace] [Screengrab: YouTube]
