Another NYC restaurant joins the exclusive group of establishments that have abolished tipping: Riki Hashizume, owner of Midtown's Restaurant Riki, tells the New York Observer that he adopted a no-tipping policy last month, bumping up staff salaries to make up for the lack of customer gratuities. Says Hashizume: "I came from Japan, and I have some ideas and I have some points of view. Usually we don't take tips in Japan." [NYO]
