San Francisco's iconic burger restaurant Joe's Cable Car closed over the weekend after 49 years serving the Outer Mission. ISSF reports owner Joe Obegi decided to retire, opting to shutter the restaurant instead of selling it ("and take the chance that his successor would not grind the fresh meat to the established Joe's Cable Car standard"). The site of the old-school diner will be converted into condos. [ISSF] [Photo: Curbed SF]
