Not to be left in the dust by the Google/Zagat partnership, Yahoo has forged its own relationship with a famously unreliable restaurant rating system: Yelp. According to a Yahoo blog post, Yelp ratings and reviews have been incorporated into Yahoo searches. The feature is live now. As Yelp puts it: "Yahoo search [is] now featuring trusted Yelp content." Hooray.
So what does this mean for users? Now when searching restaurants (or other local businesses) on Yahoo, Yelp ratings, photos, and reviews will be displayed. The information from Yelp is also integrated into Yahoo's maps. Re/code notes that both Yahoo and Yelp have been "been battling Google for a long time, as the search giant has aggressively increased its use of similar information from its own sites." Now if only more of those Yelp reviews were actually real.
