New, 2 comments

NEW YORK CITY— The 2014 edition of the Big Apple Barbecue Block Party is set for Saturday and Sunday, June 7 and 8, and line-cutting "FastPasses" are already on sale for the all-out meat fest. Pit masters like Georgia's Chris Lilly, Raleigh's Ed Mitchell, and St. Louis' Mike Emerson are among the visiting barbecue experts, and they'll serve plates of barbecue alongside local pitbosses like Jean-Paul Bourgeois (Blue Smoke) and John Stage (Dinosaur Bar-B-Que). As in year's past, admission is free and plates of meat available for purchase a la carte. More information here. [EaterWire]

SAN FRANCISCO— San Franciscans are apparently ravenous for true New York City bagels, so the Mission's Eastside Bagels will once again import the goods from NYC's famed Russ & Daughters for a one-day-only pop-up. Eater SF reports the pop-up will set up shop at Dear Mom cafe this Saturday, March 15, with a limit of one bagel per person. Only 180 bagels will be available; get in line now. [Eater SF]

NEW JERSEY— The sixth-annual New Jersey Wine & Food Festival is set for March 28 to 30, with chefs like David Bouley, Michael Solomonov, and George Mendes among those scheduled to appear. Bouley, acting as the weekend's "Guest of Honor," will host a Champagne reception and a "Battle of the NJ Sous Chefs," while Solomonov and Shirley Chung will cook at a $288 Top Chefs & Top Wines Dinner. Tickets to all events are available a la carte; for the full line-up, head here. [EaterWire]
