Do you like Top Chef? Do you want to be stuck in a boat with other people who like Top Chef? Lucky for you Bravo and Celebrity Cruises are joining forces to produce four Top Chef cruises in 2014 as part of a series called "Top Chef at Sea."
The cruises will be heading to Bermuda, Alaska, Europe, and the Caribbean. Former cheftestapants will be on board to entertain the crowds during cooking demonstrations, Quickfires, and other unspecified events. For extra money, passengers will have access to things like private cooking lessons. No participants have been announced yet, but Season 10 winner Kristen Kish is featured in Bravo's promo video below, so presumably she will be joining one?
Last year Top Chef and Celebrity partnered on Top Chef: The Cruise, a five day Caribbean adventure complete with "dining in the dark" (really diners were given blindfolds), Hubert Keller DJ sets, and so much more. To get a sense of what the cruises might be like, do check out comedian Max Silvestri's recap of his time aboard.
In addition, 10 other Celebrity cruises departing July 214 through June 2015 will be Top Chef-branded. No actual Top Cheffers will be on board, but there will be Quickfire Challenges among passengers and themed menus at dinner. Tickets for the "signature" cruises featuring cheftestapants are on sale now with the cheapest tickets hovering around $1,000 per person as of publishing. The finale of the current season of "Top Chef" shot in Maui, Hawaii will air on Bravo on Wednesday, February 5 at 10pm ET/PT. In what the judges call the closest decision in "Top Chef" history, the final two chef'testants are challenged to create a pop-up restaurant and cook a meal that proves to the judges they deserve to be named "Top Chef." Bravo recently announced the series will return for a twelfth season in Fall 2014. "Top Chef" is produced by Magical Elves with Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz serving as executive producers.
