Here's an excerpt from The Portlandia Activity Book, the upcoming bird-adorned book from the cultishly loved IFC show and McSweeney's. The excerpt is called "Am I a Foodie, Or Am I Hungry?" and offers readers a way to determine which camp they're in as they begin at a meal at the "multi-hyphenate fusion restaurant in a former donut shop" in "that 'up and coming' neighborhood."
Things to consider: whether hype or hunger brought them to the restaurant, whether reading the menu takes longer than eating (it does for foodies), and whether flavors are left to linger on the tongue or if the tongue is fatigued from being used as "a fleshy backhoe."
