The Food Network is getting into the music biz, kinda: Grammy-winner/guy-with-guitar John Mayer will headline the first-ever Food Network in Concert event, part of the annual Ravinia Festival outside Chicago. Food Network Magazine gets "presenter" credit for the day-long event that mashes up "rock stars" of both the culinary world and world of actual rock stars: The line-up promises performances by Mayer, other as-yet-unnamed musicians, and familiar Food Network personalities like Anne Burrell, Alex Guarnaschelli, and Geoffrey Zakarian.
The FN concert will set up "multiple music stages, lively cooking demos, wine and food tastings, and talent meet-and-greet opportunities" on Saturday, September 20, with tickets on-sale in April. Below, the press release:

CHICAGO, IL (Feb. 27, 2014) – This fall, Food Network Magazine will create the first-ever Food Network in Concert event at Ravinia, a jam-packed day of live music and spectacular food featuring some of today's best music and culinary talent.
This all-day experience will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Ravinia, the nation's oldest and most programmatically diverse music festival, and will be headlined by seven-time Grammy-winning recording artist John Mayer, who has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. Other can't-miss live-music performances will take place throughout the day accompanied by mouthwatering dishes from many of Food Network's most popular personalities, including Anne Burrell, Alex Guarnaschelli, Jose Garces, Jeff Mauro, Marc Murphy, Geoffrey Zakarian, and more. Additional musical and food talent, including some of Chicago's most celebrated chefs, will be announced in the coming weeks.
This first-of-its-kind event brings the "rock stars" of the food and music worlds together, with multiple music stages, lively cooking demos, wine and food tastings, talent meet-and-greet opportunities, and much more, creating an unforgettable food and entertainment experience at Ravinia.
