Watch How a Pressure-Sensing Coaster Could Make Bartenders' Lives Easier

For those seeking an ambitious new DIY project, a team called "the Next Round Project" has devised a way for bartenders and waiters to receive a "warning" when their customers' drinks are nearing empty. Basically, a regular cardboard coaster is outfitted with a Force Sensitive Resistor that can tell when a drink is getting lighter (and thus, emptier). According to a complicated-looking "how-to," the pressure sensor can send data to an LED display or speaker to give the server and audio/visual cue. Go, watch the thing in action:
