Here's the 2014 Asia's 50 Best Restaurants List

Asia's 50 Best Restaurants were announced in Singapore, and David Thompson's Nahm in Bangkok took the number one spot. This means last year's number one, Yoshihiro Narisawa's Tokyo restaurant, Narisawa, got bumped to number two. Rounding out the top ten are, in order: Gaggan (Bangkok), Amber (Hong Kong), Nihonryori Ryugin (Tokyo), Restaurant Andre (Singapore), Waku Ghin (Singapore), Ultraviolet (Shanghai), Lung King Heen (Hong Kong), and 8 1/2 Otto E Mezzo Bombana (Hong Kong).

Some took issue with the Australian-born Thompson getting the number one position. London restaurant critic Jay Rayner tweeted, "So, the no 1 restaurant in the 50 best Asia list belongs to a white Australian guy?...I quit the org for good reasons." Cookbook author Fuchsia Dunlop commented on China's representation, tweeting "Amazing to see Mainland China only has 3 Chinese restaurants in Asia's so-called 50 Best list!." Not all were critical; UK cookbook author Tom Parker Bowles tweeted "For once, those 50 Best folk talking a semblance of sense." Check out the full list below:
