Adweek has revealed the winners of its 2014 Hot List and the food world had a strong showing. First up, the magazines: Garden and Gun took home the Hottest Lifestyle Magazine prize. As for the Best Food Magazine, Adweek editors gave the honors to Bon Appétit, while readers awarded it to Every Day With Rachael Ray. The food magazines also swept the Hottest Newcomer category with the troubled Modern Farmer getting editors' votes. Readers bestowed the title on Cherry Bombe, whose "aesthetic has clearly won over a wide range of readers, as illustrated by its readers' choice victory (despite having a scant few thousand social media followers.)"
Anthony Bourdain's CNN show Parts Unknown also managed to nab the Hottest Reality or Competition Series prize. Adweek writes on its choice, "Bourdain, a former honorary Clio Award winner, takes his food seriously, and as CNN's content evolves, this series proves how good nonfiction entertainment can be, even on a news network." Another big winner? The stunt food/social media blackout specialists over at Taco Bell. The chain was awarded Hottest Digital Marketer for being "an undisputed leader in working social platforms."
