A restaurant in Cardiff, Wales posted a photo on Facebook of a family who left without paying their bill. According to the Daily Mail:
Burger & Lobster posted a CCTV picture on its company Facebook page showing a mystery family apparently leaving its new restaurant in The Hayes, Cardiff. Next to the photograph, a staff member wrote: 'To this family that walked out tonight without paying their bill, we are sure this was just a 'mistake' and you completely forgot, so out of the goodness of your heart please call the restaurant tomorrow to pay the bill. Thanks.'
Facebook reactions to the post, which has since been removed, ranged from outrage ("'I don't like the way in which you operate and puts me off ever coming into your establishment again!") to agreement ("You did right"). Whether you agree with the restaurant's tactics or not, they were apparently effective: A rep for the restaurant told the Daily Mail that "the table in question has now come forward and paid their bill," which was likely "in the region of £80" or about $125.
Burger & Lobster isn't the only establishment that's taken to posting dine-and-dashers on social media: Last year a bar in Reno, Nevada posted a photo of a serial tab-walker on its Facebook page, which helped gather enough information for charges to be filed against him.
