The Bocuse d'Or Winners — the association for winners of the famed culinary competition — has published a new cookbook. According to a press release, the book is tiled Solidarity Cuisine. It features recipes and quotes from all 39 chefs in the Bocuse d'Or Winners' association including Denmark's Rasmus Kofoed (Restaurant Geranium) and France's Thibaut Ruggeri (Lenôtre). The book also includes a preface penned by Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus.
There is also a charitable aspect to the book: The press release adds that profits from the book — which has been printed in French and English — will help finance micro-loans. Three Euros ($3.70 USD) from the sale of each book will be donated to new food world micro-entrepreneurs — including "street cooks," producers, and restaurant owners — around the globe.
The next Bocuse d'Or competition will take place in 2015.
