A Taco Bell commercial featuring a same-sex couple that was purportedly "leaked" onto YouTube earlier this month is not, in fact, the work of the Doritos Locos tacos-hawking fast food chain, reports the Huffington Post. The thirty-second spot, which appears to be professionally shot, depicts a gay couple having breakfast at Taco Bell. They wonder what else they can fit in before work: the ad then shows them riding a Ferris wheel, zooming around on jet skis, cuddling on a picnic blanket with a Taco Bell bag in the background, and even getting married.
Mediaite.com speculated that the chain simply "got cold feet" and decided not to air the ad, a theory that was quickly squashed by an official statement from Taco Bell that read in part, "Although we cannot condone unauthorized use of our intellectual property, we are impressed with their work and would be open to meeting with them."
