TV personality/frequent testicle eater Andrew Zimmern is furthering the Bizarre Foods franchise with a new half-hour series set to debut next month. Per a Travel Channel press release issued this morning, Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations will "take viewers on an international journey to iconic cities around the world for a taste of their quintessential, not–to–be missed dishes." In Zimmern's words, the goal of the show is to "[tell] the world in simple, easily digested terms what the classic 5 or 6 foods are in the world’s great cities." That means that instead of chowing down on goat eyeballs and iguana, Zimmern will instead be sampling much tamer fare like Boston clam chowder, Swiss chocolate, and Spanish paella.

The 13-episode series will debut January 26 with two back-to-back episodes beginning at 9 p.m. The first will take Zimmern to Greece for gyros, spanakopita, souvlaki and other Greek classics, while the second will feature Parisian specialities including steak frites and baguettes.

The original Bizarre Foods is currently in its ninth season; recent destinations have included Newfoundland, the Faroe Islands, and Mexico City.
