Montauk's Surf Lodge to Expand its Beachy Vibes With 10 to 15 New Cafes

The Surf Lodge

Jayma Cardoso the owner of the popular Montauk, New York restaurant the Surf Lodge — has announced plans to open a series of cafes around the country. According to a press release, the first Surf Lodge Café will pop-up in Miami December 3 through December 7 to coincide with the New Art Dealers Alliance fair at Art Basel this weekend. Cardoso will then open 10 to 15 permanent locations of the Surf Lodge Cafés, starting in New York and California.

Diners can expect a healthy menu of soups, sandwiches, and fresh-pressed juices. Cardoso tells the New York Post that she has been thinking about expanding the Surf Lodge brand, and that "grab and go" cafes seemed like the perfect fit.

Former Top Chef contestant Sam Talbot was once the chef at the Surf Lodge but left the position in 2012.
