While rare-bourbon fans jostle to get their hands on an exclusive, sought-after bottle of Pappy Van Winkle, one Louisville, Kentucky bar owner has vowed to not "take things so damn seriously": He's using his allotment of the scarce booze to make Jell-O shots, a move that many Pappy freaks would consider sacrilegious at best.

Jeremy Johnson, owner of a bar called Metatold Insider Louisville he decided to sell some of his 15-year Pappy Van Winkle bottles in Jell-O shot form as a direct response to Pappy fervor. "It's a way to have a little fun with how ridiculous it's gotten," he says. "The hoops we've had to jump through to get just a little bit (of Pappy bourbon) is ridiculous. So this is a fun way to say, 'Don't forget about the other bourbons out there,' and also to celebrate Pappy time." The "Old Fashioned" flavored Jell-O shots are available for $10 each, and fret not, regular pours of 12-, 15-, and 20-year Pappy Van Winkle are also available.
