Chef/author/television host Anthony Bourdain will soon grace television screens as a cartoon character. According to the New York Post, Bourdain will play a character on an upcoming episode of Nickelodeon's animated show Sanjay and Craig which is about a 12-year-old boy (Sanjay) and his talking snake (Craig). The character — named Anthony Gourmand — is essentially, according to Bourdain, a "more maniacal version" of himself. Gourmand is also a TV food dude and is the host of Craig's favorite TV show Foodventurer.

In the episode Gourmand is looking for the "ultimate food" which Sanjay and Craig are convinced can be found in their town. However, it turns out that Gourmand actually believes snake is the "ultimate food" and Sanjay must spend the rest of the episode trying to save Craig from being eaten.

Bourdain tells the New York Post that he is a mega fan of the cartoon and has seen "absolutely every episode." This isn't the first time Bourdain has made an appearance on Nickelodeon: In 2010, he donned a doctor's coat to play "Doctor Tony" on Yo Gabba Gabba. The Anthony Bourdain episode of Sanjay and Craig will air early next year.
