Here's some feel good food news: One company is aiming to feed hungry retail employees on Black Friday, that hellish day of deals and shopping that falls the day after Thanksgiving. According to a press release, food delivery start-up SpoonRocket will deliver a free meal to Black Friday retail employees in the San Francisco and East Bay areas.
The deal is part of their "Buy One, Get One, Give One" promotion running November 24 though November 30, excluding Thanksgiving. When customers order a meal online, they will receive a second one for free. Plus, SpoonRocket will deliver a hot, free meal to a retail employee on Black Friday who uses the promotion code that day.
The meal options change each day, but on Friday, November 28, it appears as if retail workers will receive a plate of braised beef short ribs with barbecue baby back ribs, green chile macaroni and cheese, and a greek salad. All of which sounds like great fuel to get through throngs of grumpy bargain shoppers jacked up on gingerbread lattes .
