Though ice cream chain Carvel's newest flavor might look like candy cane, it's actually flavored with the popular after dinner mints known as Andes. Olive Garden famously keeps bowls of Andes Mints at their hostess stations. The thin mint known for its green wrapper and pale green layer of minty filling sandwiched between two thin bars of chocolate has a holiday version that's pink and white and known as Peppermint Crunch.
According to a release, Carvel locations nationwide will be offering peppermint ice cream by the scoop flavored with Andes Mints Peppermint Crunch; a sundae called Dasher made with peppermint soft-serve "with layer upon layer of Andes Mints and topped with hot fudge and whipped cream;" and Andes Mints Premium Peppermint Shake, which is topped with whipped cream and Andes Peppermint Crunch Mints.
This isn't Carvel's first collaboration this year. This Summer, Carvel teamed up with Ferrero, the makers of Nutella, for the world's first-ever Nutella ice cream available nationwide.
The Andes Mints Carvel flavors are available across the country now through the end of December.
