VARIOUS LOCATIONS— Traveling pork orgy Cochon 555, the competitive celebration of heritage pork, has announced its "tour dates" for 2015, with 10 events scheduled nationwide from January 25 (in New York City) to April 26 (in Chicago). In between, the tour will pit chefs against each other in Houston, Boston, Minneapolis, Denver, Washington DC, LA, San Francisco, and Miami, each tasked with creating a menu created from one whole hog. The winning chef from each city will then compete in the "Grand Cochon" event in Aspen on June 20. Chefs like Gavin Kaysen, Evan Rich, and Spike Mendelsohn are already confirmed to compete in their home cities. More information here. [EaterWire]
BROOKLYN— Musician/onetime restaurateur/noted food enthusiast Questlove will curate the 2015 edition of Brooklyn's Taste Talks, slated for September of next year. Questlove participated in the 2013 event, discussing "the intersection of art and commerce" with Mario Batali and Wylie Dufresne. No dates have been set yet, though a press release promises to "bring together many of the people at the forefront of the food world from around the globe." [EaterWire]
SEATTLE— A fan-led attempt to save Seattle's recently shuttered sandwich shop Paseo has fallen flat: Eater Seattle reports former employees of the shop were not interested in accepting funds from a Kickstarter campaign started on their behalf. The Kickstarter, which was $34,000 into its $250K goal, has been canceled. [ESEA]
