In a bold move, Paltrow announced this Monday that she has hired Lisa Gersh, ex-employee of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, as chief executive of her lifestyle brand, GOOP. According to Fortune magazine, the two were first introduced by fitness guru/tiny person Tracy Anderson and Paltrow eventually offered Gersh the job over dinner at her home. While Gersh hasn't worked for MSLO since December of 2012, one can't help but speculate that this announcement will not sit well with Stewart who has already come down hard on the actress for being a copycat.
This bombshell comes on the heels of Stewart's recent comment to Porter magazine in which she said that Paltrow, "just needs to be quiet [and] if she were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart." This isn't the first time the two women have been caught in a GOOP-y spat, and after this latest news, it's probably not the last.
