Acclaimed chef and baseball enthusiast Masaharu Morimoto is opening a restaurant at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla. According to the Orlando Business Journal, Morimoto has teamed up with the Patina Restaruant Group to open the concept at Disney Springs next year. The Disney Parks blog notes that the two-story restaurant will be called Morimoto Asia.
There the chef will serve his "first-ever" pan-Asian menu featuring "flavors from across the continent." Morimoto Asia will also have "exhibition kitchens showcasing traditions" such as Peking duck carving and dim sum. The dining area will feature waterside seating, terraces, and a cocktail lounge. Morimoto tells the Disney Parks blog that bringing this restaurant to Disney is something he's "always dreamed of." Morimoto Asia is slated to open next summer.
