Watch out Europe, Yelp — the oft-sued review site — is coming for you. Just days after announcing that it had acquired German restaurant review service Restaurant-Kritik, Yelp reveals via its blog that it has also bought Cityvox, "a French online review site specialised in the restaurant and nightlife categories."
Similar to the Restaurant-Kritik deal, it appears as if Yelp will integrate Cityvox's content into its platform: "We are looking forward to integrating this review and photo content into Yelp and putting it at the service of consumers throughout France."
While the terms of the deal have not been disclosed, TechCrunch points out that acquisitions of local review services "give Yelp a potentially quick way of building up its inventory in specific countries, and also acquiring existing user bases." Currently, Yelp apparently has "over 130 million unique visitors" each month.
