NEW YORK CITY— Wizard of modernist cooking Wylie Dufresne is going all-out during the final weeks of his celebrated NYC restaurant wd~50: The chef has announced wd's final dinners will be ticketed affairs. A set of dinners called "wd~50: Then and Now" will offer an 11-course prix fixe representing the restaurant's 11-year run in its current Lower East Side space; the final event, "Last Call," promises a "final feast curated by chef Dufresne and comprised of his favorite dishes from the years." MIAMI— Chef Norman Van Aken has announced plans to open his own cooking school in Miami. Titled "In the Kitchen with Norman Van Aken at the Vagabond," the school plans a spring 2015 opening. [Miami Herald]
