Portlandia at the Spotted Pig; Tix for the 2015 Big Sur Foragers Festival

NEW YORK CITY— Chef April Bloomfield's NYC hotspot the Spotted Pig will celebrate some fall 2014 cookbook releases with a series of announced cookbook dinners. Eater NY reports dinners dedicated to Thomas McNaughton's Flour + Water cookbook, Chez Panisse chef Cal Peternell's Twelve Recipes, and hilariously, the Portlandia cookbook, are currently on the calendar. CALIFORNIA— "Early Bird" tickets are now on sale for the 2015 edition of the Big Sur Foragers Festival, slated for January 16 through 18 of next year. The annual event offers funghi-minded guests access to hiking excursions, culinary tastings, and a Grand Foragers Dinner — the 2015 installment will feature Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski of SF's State Bird Provisions as the guest chefs.
