NEW YORK CITY— Chef April Bloomfield's NYC hotspot the Spotted Pig will celebrate some fall 2014 cookbook releases with a series of announced cookbook dinners. Eater NY reports dinners dedicated to Thomas McNaughton's Flour + Water cookbook, Chez Panisse chef Cal Peternell's Twelve Recipes, and hilariously, the Portlandia cookbook, are currently on the calendar. At the latter, the Pig will serve dishes from the parody cookbook, including brussels sprouts with bacon and cedar-planked salmon with radish slaw. More information here. [ENY]

CALIFORNIA— "Early Bird" tickets are now on sale for the 2015 edition of the Big Sur Foragers Festival, slated for January 16 through 18 of next year. The annual event offers funghi-minded guests access to hiking excursions, culinary tastings, and a Grand Foragers Dinner — the 2015 installment will feature Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski of SF's State Bird Provisions as the guest chefs. More information and tickets available here. [EaterWire]

NEW YORK CITY— Pastry wizard/Cronut king Dominique Ansel will hold a cookbook signing at his eponymous NYC bakery this Saturday, October 25. The event celebrates his book Dominique Ansel: The Secret Recipes, which hits store shelves October 28. [@DominiqueAnsel]
