Watch Chef Wylie Dufresne Reminisce Over WD-50

The legendary New York City restaurant will shut its doors next month.

This week, Time magazine profiles chef and boundary pusher Wylie Dufresne, owner of New York City restaurant wd-50. The legendary restaurant — known for dishes like edible egg shells and noodles made from shrimp — will close next month after 11 years in service. Juxtaposed with mesmerizing scenes of cooks chopping and experimenting, Dufresne reveals that he is "sorry to leave this restaurant," especially the people who have become a part of his family. He adds, "there's a lot of emotions tied up in this space... I'm trying to push those sad bits off until the very end. We're going to go down swinging."
