Chef Kelly English Announces Expansion; Switcheroo at DC's Mandarin Oriental

MISSISSIPPI— Memphis chef Kelly English (of Restaurant Iris, the Second Line, and Biloxi, Mississippi's Magnolia House) has announced he'll open a second Second Line location in Oxford, MS. According to a report, English has purchased a building in Oxford, with plans to open another outpost of his Creole-inspired restaurant by May 2015. WASHINGTON, DC— An upcoming chef shuffle to report in our nation's capital: Eater DC reports chef Eric Ziebold, of the acclaimed CityZen inside the Mandarin Oriental hotel, will depart in early December. In response, the MO will shutter CityZen in favor of launching "a new signature restaurant concept" in the new year. Details as they become available. [EDC]

PHILADELPHIA— A half-dozen Philadelphia chefs will join forces to celebrate the culinary legacy of Le Bec-Fin and its owner Georges Perrier. Eater Philly reports former Le Bec-Fin proteges like chefs Al Paris, Nick Elmi, Kevin Sbraga, and more will serve a six-course dinner on November 11, with proceeds from the $295 dinner benefiting the James Beard Foundation.
