It's official, preparations for Bocuse d'Or 2015 — the closest event the world has to a culinary Olympics — have begun. For the 2015 competition, chef Grant Achatz (Alinea, Next, Chicago) has been appointed Honorary President of the jury. According to a release, when the 24 teams convene on January 27 and 28 of next year, Achatz will guide the 24 judges on the jury in critiquing each dish on aesthetic, respect for the products, and taste. Achatz last sat on the jury in 2012.
Thibaut Ruggeri, chef at the restaurant Abbaye de Fontevraud, has been named President of the international jury. Ruggeri's team won the Bocuse d'Or in 2013. Paul Bocuse will preside over the event, as usual. The full schedule and list of teams can be viewed online.
