Ferran Adrià to Visit Cleveland; SoFAB Museum Opens

Plus some serious candy nerdery happening in Brooklyn.

CLEVELAND— Spanish superchef Ferran Adrià, of elBulli fame, will visit the Museum of Contemporary Art on Sunday, November 16 to usher in the new exhibit "Ferran Adrià: Notes on Creativity." Tickets to chef Adria's discussion with author Michael Ruhlman cost $20 for museum members and $30 for non-members. [EaterWire]

NEW ORLEANS— Monday marked the opening of the Southern Food and Beverage Museum and its sister museum, the Museum of the American Cocktail. Not all of the museums' exhibits are completely installed, but it currently houses a demonstration kitchen and a gallery, while the Museum of the American Cocktail boasts exhibits of mixology's origins to the present day. For all those who wish to peruse a museum with a Sazerac in hand, this is the place, and on October 24, chef Marcus Samuelsson will be on-hand during a re-dedication ceremony for the Leah Chase Gallery. BROOKLYN— For all food nerds with a fascination over Halloween, Brooklyn Brainery is offering a class about candy, covering topics like the global history of candy and the origins of Halloween.
