Hillary Dixler Canavan is Eater's restaurant editor and the author of the publication's debut book, Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes From the Authority on Where to Eat and Why It Matters (Abrams, September 2023). Her work focuses on dining trends and the people changing the industry — and scouting the next hot restaurant you need to try on Eater's annual Best New Restaurant list.

Beloved IFC show Portlandia is getting its very own cookbook. Show creators and stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein and co-creator and director Jonathan Krisel have signed a deal with Clarkson Potter to write The Portlandia Cookbook, Publishers Marketplace reports. The book will "present the characters in the show and 50 related recipes" along with "stories and sidebars throughout."

The announcement alludes to the famous local chicken sketch from the premiere episode of the show, but there are no other indications yet as to what the recipes might include. Based on past episodes, there may well be gas-inducing raw vegan recipes, food cart recipes, and, of course, pickles. Portlandia already has inspired the book Portlandia: A Guide for Visitors by Armisen and Brownstein. The Portlandia Cookbook is slated for a Spring 2015 release. Season four of the show premieres February 27.
