Ken Friedman and April Bloomfield to Transform a San Francisco Strip Club

Bicoastal restaurateur Ken Friedman and chef April Bloomfield are at it again in San Francisco: The pair have announced that they will be taking over a strip club located behind their white hot Tosca Cafe and transforming it into a bar. Friedman tells Inside Scoop SF that plans for the infamous, now-shuttered Lusty Lady include cocktails, wine, and bar snacks created by Tosca Cafe chef Josh Even.

Initial design ideas include "weird nooks and crannies" plus a riff on peepshow windows "wherein a customer inserts a dollar and then a window opens to reveal a bartender — instead of a stripper." The concept, name, and precise opening date for the bar are still being determined, but Bloomfield and Friedman are aiming to launch in the "second half" of 2014.
