Portland's Argentine steakhouse Ox recently Instagrammed the list of customer allergies in response to its New Year's Eve prix-fixe menu, with Post-its describing tables' worth of off-limits items, from mangos to crab to eggs. In addition to vegetarians, pescetarians, and lactose- and gluten-intolerant folks, many tickets revealed the allergen-prone stick together, with tables of "one vegetarian, one no pork and no shellfish." (Not pictured in this particular line-up: Vegans, though proprietors Greg and Gabrielle Quiñónez Denton told Eater PDX that they're welcome, too. "I get most excited when we get tables of vegans or vegetarians," Quiñónez Denton said.)
In their Instagram post, the Dentons describe the lineup as "nothin' special," but one local restaurant isn't participating in Portlandia's allergy pride parade: Fellow restaurateurs at French bistro St. Jack responded with a "Ha! No modifiers over here... Yay!"
