Taco Bell Makeovers

waynesTB150os.jpgThe San Francisco Chronicle embarks on a project to document the California buildings once home to "mission-style" Taco Bell franchises, and discovers they now house 20-year-old Greek restaurants, white-tablecloth Italian joints, and sushi bars. Says Wayne's Grill & Sushi owner of his Taco Bell space: "For the first two years, I still had people coming in, and they didn't even look at the menu. They still ordered tacos."
