Delaware's Dogfish Head Brewery — whose founder Sam Calagione has inspired at least two beer-related television shows in recent years — has announced plans to open its own 16-room, beer-themed hotel. The Dogfish Inn will debut next year in a former motel space in downtown Lewes, Delaware, about 11 miles away from the Dogfish Brewery in Milton (and seven miles away from the company's brewpub, in the tourist-friendly Rehoboth Beach).
According to an official announcement, Dogfish will team with Brooklyn's Studio Tack and Delaware's Lighthouse Construction to design the hotel, which promises a revamp featuring "Dogfish vibes." Per the New York Times, said "vibes" translate to micro-fridges and beer glasses in every room, as well as "a bottle opener on the wall." Dogfish Inn's projected opening: Spring 2014.
