LA-Son-Excerpt.jpgHere's an excerpt from a chapter that was cut from LA chef Roy Choi's upcoming book L.A. Son (plus a milk shake recipe). Choi recounts his memories of being in LA's Koreatown during the 1992 riots: "Ktown got caught in a rip-tide of confusion, opportunity, and disgust ... We didn't have coolers and goalposts in our cars. We had trunks filled with chains, bats, knives, guns, all stockpiled, all ready to load." [Riding Shotgun]
