Inside the Los Angeles Outpost of NYC's Iconic Rao's

Photo: Daniels/Eater LA

Legendary Harlem restaurant Rao's — known for being one of the world's toughest tables (and also for its all-Christmas, all-the-time decor) — has swung the doors open at its much-anticipated Hollywood outpost. The new location (Rao's third, counting an outpost in Las Vegas) retains the 117-year-old Harlem restaurant's old-school vibe, as well as much of its classic, red-sauce Italian menu. Eater Young Guns finalist and former Rao's Las Vegas chef Nicole Grimes is in the kitchen, and in addition to the familiar spaghetti and meatballs, she's offering "a bunch of lighter dishes geared to LA diners."
