Adrià, Atala, Roca, and More Descend Upon Shake Shack

What do a bunch of world famous chefs do when they find themselves together in New York City? Apparently they go to the original Shake Shack location in Madison Square Park. Chef Alex Atala of D.O.M. in Brazil (currently ranked #6 in the world) posted the photo above to Instagram showing Adrià, writer Harold McGee, chefs Gaston Acurio, Michel Bras, and others at the burger stand, while chef Dan Barber tweeted a photo of Ferran Adrià in line writing: "Even the best of us have to wait in line."

The acclaimed chefs are in town for the annual induction and summit meeting of the advisory board of the Basque Culinary Center. This year's inductees are chefs Joan Roca of El Celler de Can Roca in Spain (the #1 ranked restaurant in the world) and Enrique Olvera of Pujol in Mexico (the #3 ranked restaurant in Latin America). Last year, the group convened in Tokyo.
