THE FRIENDLY SKIES— The British Airways A380 aircraft — which offers first-class passengers a five-course tasting menu designed by London's five-star hotel the Langham — has flown its inaugural flight from London to Los Angeles. In addition to the five-course dinner (inspired by the Langham's afternoon tea), all passengers get access to a complimentary bar and three-course haute airline meals, which the airline premiered to select guests earlier this summer. On the menu then: seared scallops with pea puree, pork belly with lemongrass and peach, and a "milk bar" for dessert. [EaterWire]

NEW YORK CITY— Discount site Groupon has teamed with NYC's food rescue organization City Harvest for a "One Groupon, One Meal" campaign, running all this week. For every Groupon purchased at a participating restaurant, the site will donate the cost of one meal to City Harvest's hunger relief efforts. Buy 'em here. [EaterWire]

LAS VEGAS— Chefs Mario Batali, Wolfgang Puck, and Buddy Valastro are among the headliners at Las Vegas's La Cucina Italiana, scheduled for December 5-8 at the Venetian and the Palazzo Las Vegas. The fpir-day festival will feature a day's worth of cooking demonstrations/classes, a "lunch with Wolfgang," and the grand banquet event cooked up by Batali and famed butcher Dario Cecchini.
