NYC's City Grit Still Plans Move; Guy's Family Cruise

NEW YORK CITY— After an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign that failed to meet its $100,000 goal, culinary salon City Grit has launched a new fundraising campaign. Chef Sarah Simmons tells Eater NY that a move is still impending, since the building housing City Grit's current space has been sold. The new fundraiser is now ongoing on City Grit's official website, with "many of the same rewards we offered on Kickstarter." [Eater NY]

THE SEVEN SEAS— Flavortown mayor Guy Fieri will take to the high seas for an upcoming Food Network special/veiled Carnival Cruise commerical, Guy's Family Cruise. According to a synopsis, Fieri will cruise "the seas of the Caribbean with his family," work the line at his cruise-ship burger joint (donkey sauce for everyone), "slip slide through the water park," and disembark on a culinary tour of Jamaica. NEW YORK CITY Daniel Boulud, Philippe Bertineau, and Christian Delourvie are among the 30 chefs celebrating their home country during Bryant Park's massive "Taste of France" event on September 28 & 29.
