Here's a trailer for the upcoming restaurant documentary Spinning Plates. The film focuses on three extremely different restaurants: Breitbach's, a "150-year-old family restaurant still standing only because of the unbreakable bond with its community" in Iowa; La Cocina de Gabby, a "fledgling Mexican restaurant" in Tucson "whose owners are risking everything just to survive and provide for their young daughter"; and chef Grant Achatz's high-end Chicago restaurant Alinea (check out this clip from Alinea). The trailer goes behind the scenes at all three restaurants and asks the question "Why do you go to a restaurant?" There's also interview footage with all three restaurant owners including Achatz, who addresses his battle with cancer. Do keep an eye out for Thomas Keller too. Spinning Plates is scheduled to hit theaters on October 25. Go, watch:
