While some restaurants like Costata and The Elm permit them, other restaurants like Momofuku do not. Le Bernardin is still on the fence, but chef Eric Ripert is not into the idea: "Personally, I don't find it elegant. It's weird to see someone smoking with a plastic cigarette."
